Help Us Build THIS Lighthouse!!
Why build a lighthouse in Southern Illinois?
Like any "building" in our area such as your local church, the structure is simply a tool to point people to the LORD Jesus Christ. This Lighthouse will be a tool to show that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. It will provide a source of HOPE and revelation of who Jesus Christ is and that He is calling us out of the darkness and into His marvelous LIGHT!
A founding board member once said she had a dream concerning Eagle House. She saw a large lighthouse sending forth huge beams of light from the top of Eagle House Hill! We both chuckled and I said, “who knows maybe we’ll get one!”
Several years later... God began to instill in other board members the same concept. Some of our goals were to build an observatory deck to get a better view of the valley below, a small outdoor chapel and a public bathroom to accommodate visitors who always come to enjoy the view.
The lighthouse concept integrates all of these goals into one unit. As time has progressed the lighthouse has become a permanent vision for us at Eagle House.

A View of the Valley Below.
Missions in Southern Illinois....
Last year we began a new ministry through Eagle House. Johnson, Union
and Pulaski counties are among the most depressed in the State of
Illinois. Working with the Shawnee Development Council and other agencies
and churches we are developing a list of projects ranging from painting,
roofing, repairs and small additions projects for area residents within the
three counties. We would like to invite you to consider bringing your
youth group, men’s group and/or church groups to Eagle House and work on a
mission project in our own state. Each missioner will be asked to pay a
flat fee of approximately $150.00. The Mission will begin on Mondays and
end on Fridays. We have three showers and four bathrooms, bunk beds to
accommodate 10. Two double futons, two couches and floor space for blow-up
mattresses. (Mattresses will be provided.) All meals will be
provided and snacks made available. Each church or group will be asked to
purchase supplies for the mission project; however the materials will be
purchased ahead of time by Rev. Milligan to save time for your group. You
will help to choose a project suited for the skills of your group. Rev.
Milligan along with youth from the area will help to provide devotions and
worship services if desired. If you are interested in doing a mission trip
in 2011 or future years, please let us know! We are excited about the
possibilities of being used by God to provide for many in need in our
area!!!
