Present Ministries of Eagle House

1. University of Christian Life:

Three guest rooms serve to house High School youth and college age youth for a three month period to help establish them in the faith. We call it University of Christian Life. The youth are led in bible studies, theology classes, outreach ministries and a weekly prayer and praise service which is open to all our youth.


2. SOLD OUT- Wednesday Late Night Service:

Every Wednesday Night there is a Late Night Worship Service held at 9:00 p.m. at Eagle House for High School and College age youth. Some adults attend with their youth groups. 30-50 youth attend these amazing services. It is a time of renewal and fellowship. God has impacted so many families and lives throughout the years through this service. God has worked in mighty ways in this particular service to bring salvations, rededications and genuine worship.


3. Youth Rallies:

The Youth Rallies average 175 youth six times a year. Various bands and speakers are asked to come and share what God has laid on their hearts. It is an exciting time of energetic worship and sincere heartfelt praise. Over 15 churches from the area were represented in the last Youth Rally in November.


4. Newspapers:

Four times a year, we publish a newspaper style newsletter for our partners and friends. Alan writes an article dealing with various aspects of the Christian Life. Every paper contains announcements of upcoming events to be held at Eagle House, Alan’s preaching schedule, and news concerning needs and progress made on the Eagle House Ministry facility. Monthly Newsletters are sent to regular contributors.


5. Easter Sunrise Service:

Each year a 6AM Outdoor service is held on the morning of Easter. The service is conducted outdoors at Eagle House in front of the twenty-six foot cross overlooking the valley behind the ministry site as weather co-operates. Each year’s service differs, but all lift up the Risen Christ. Over the years, the services have proven to be a rich source of inspiration during the Easter season.


6. Holiday Meal Ministry:

On Thanksgiving and Christmas Day we prepare a delicious holiday meal to be delivered to area residents and those wishing to dine in. This meal is served without cost by volunteers and donations.


7. Preaching/Evangelism:

Revivals: The word revival means “to renew that which was.” Revival services are intended to “rekindle the gift of salvation” among believers. Alan is able to Preach from Thursday to Sunday evenings and other time frames as time allows.

Evangelistic Meetings: A series of worship services designed to reach out to those who have never made commitments to Christ before. For greatest success in these services; planning and preparation must go into these meetings for weeks and months ahead.


8. Teaching/Speaking:

Retreats, Rallies, Seminars: A short period of time (one day, a weekend) focusing upon some aspect of the Christian Life to bring about renewed understanding and sharpening skills in this area. For instance, a retreat dealing with the happy Christian marriage.


9. Counseling and Prayer:

As time allows, Rev. Milligan counsels with individuals upon request. Alan’s years as a pastor and his formal training qualify him to help those in need of spiritual guidance and direction. Above all training and experience, Alan believes in the ministry of Prayer!


8. Pastoral Ministry:

Alan preaches Sundays at the Karnak UMC and serves half time as their Pastor. Alan is also the General Evangelist for the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference.



Future Ministries

1. A Lighthouse complete with an observatory deck is in the plans for the future. At this point, a fifty foot high Lighthouse with stairwell access will be built on the north gravel parking lot. It’s our prayer, this unique addition to Eagle House will draw many persons to Jesus Christ. We have the first stage completed and are working on the second stage.


2. Prayer Gardens: Although we have only three acres as our ministry site, we want to use all of it to minister to our guests. In the future, there will be several out door places for individuals or small groups to commune with God and others.
