VACMA and Faith Alive Thrift Store

As many of you know Vienna Area Christian Ministerial Alliance, made up of various pastors in the area, meet each month to plan and utilize available resources in order to reach as many in the community as possible.  VACMA works hand in hand with the Faith Alive Thrift Store.  All the workers of Faith Alive Thrift Store are volunteers and are made up of various churches and individuals in our area.  How does it work?  Clothes and Small Household Items are donated, volunteers sort and put out the items to be sold.  Various Churches in the area "take a weekend" to work by selling the items, at an extremely reasonable price, and sorting the donations of clothes, etc..  The money is then used to help persons in Johnson County Area who qualify to get assistance with electric, gas, etc... due to loss of job, physical condition, burn-out, etc... It is a great place to get involved in reaching people in our community ..."For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me..." Matthew 25:35-36a  Hundreds of people are helped through this ministry each year, thousands of dollars- given out to help families who are having "a hard time".  It is located on the Vienna Square.  Alan Milligan is the Treasurer and is responsible in giving benevolence money to those in need.   If you know of anyone who might need assistance call Alan at 618-658-8116.

How can you get involved at the Faith Alive Thrift Store in Vienna?

1.)  Donate Clothes and/or Household Items... There is a drop box in the back of the store to drop bags of clothes or small items.  (Due to space, we do not accept furniture at this time)

2.)  Volunteer your time to Work... Several Churches in the Area work each Week, but are always needing individuals to help.

3.)  Pray for the all of the families helped to know the love of Christ through the volunteers and physical assistance.
